Detente LLC (Detente) is a small disadvantaged business capable of performing medical, training and life & mission support services in remote, austere environments. Its customers include United States government agencies, prime vendors and foreign governments.
Joel Bouckaert founded Detente, Inc. in 2012. In April 2014 an Advisory Board including John DiMarco, Derek Johnson and Billy Conner was formed to advance corporate strategy and governance. In September 2014, MBEC Global LLC, led by Vivien Ellis, completed an equity transaction with the company, bringing together both team’s resources as Detente LLC. Vivien Ellis is the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Joel Bouckaert serves as its Senior Vice President.
Detente maintains a solid business and financial foundation. The company currently has a prime contract with Army Contracting Command - Rock Island for emergent and clinical medical services in support of U.S. Army and Marine operations in Helmand, Afghanistan (commenced in 2013, option periods exercised in 2014). Detente also delivers subcontract services to Olive Group North America LLC, providing specialized medical support at Balad Air Base in Iraq. Originally scheduled to end in mid-2014, the mission has been extended for the foreseeable future. Both extensions of services are indicative of the company’s ability to deploy and sustain its operations worldwide. In August 2014, Detente entered agreements to support the U.S. Department of State Worldwide Protective Services program with recruiting and staffing services. In September 2014, the company delivered national certification in basic and advanced medical topics to the Colombian National Police (CNP) in cooperation with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. As a result of this successful collaboration, the CNP expanded its relationship with Detente in October 2014 to include recurrent flight and medical training.
